"If the mountain won't come to Muhammad, Muhammad must go to the mountain ."-A trip to Mount Eden,Auckland,New Zealand.

On Friday one of my classmates offered to accompany me to the city on my quest to find a new tie :) We had so much fun wandering up and down Queen Street...we had to do a great deal of walking since apparently, most clothing stores don't sell ties.....this was surprising as one would expect to see ties in a clothing store since...it is part of clothing!

I was given a run for my money, literally :P although I didn't expect it to be this much of a challenge to find a tie...lol. My friend was so accommodating, she walked with me all the way :) thanks you "Jane" *(name changed) I hate this anonymous thing it doesn't do much for credibility but works for privacy, so just to be clear these are REAL stories with REAL people only the names a fake :P boy that sure works.lol.

The first store I walked into was Tarocash I get hungry and feel lucky whenever I recall my shopping experience there...I only walked in because of the beautiful lady at the door...she was just a delight to look at and so I walked in (darn marketing tricks...gets me all the time ;) I left my friend Jane outside for fear of her being mistaken as my girlfriend (poor girl :P) I walked in pretending that I wanted to buy something from the store (this wasn't really hard, I just thought about buying the beautiful article talking to me :P) They had ties at this store but all stripes not other designs and paterns...so I just made up ques
tions and small talk, tried to be funny (it didn't work...damn :P) but she was so lovely as to refer me to the Tie Rack, so on we went!

We met a wonderful woman named *Brianna who was just amazing coz she was so smiley, I met her for the second time and even though she knew I wasn't much of a "greenie" from our last encounter, she still stopped to chat to me and I got to know how she was :P I don't like it when people reply to a "hey, how are you?" with a
"I'm good thanks" oh and even worse "and you??" I mean I asked you the question silly! don't try and dodge it then ask throw it back at me :P well,I did ask her but I got to know more about her,she is American and she loves the planet to death (okay bad choice of words there :P) she is a total MEAN GREEN..PEACE machine so if you ever see her, stop and say hi!-although you probably shouldn't call her Brianna, use the name clearly printed on her tag! Jane absolutely loved her, so she was willing to sign up for the charity. Greenpeace is very actively involved in helping to TRY to counteract the devastating effects of humanity on the environment. They try to pressure goverments here and abroad to make regulations or changes to help protect and preserve the planet (kinda like captain planet except without all the cool powers :P) I don't believe that human efforts to resolve such a global issue would do much good since you cannot change the people who rule this world. So I explained to her that I didn't want to sign up because I don't believe that they would actually make a difference....laws don't stop people from being lawless! To change someone requires a change of heart not of laws or regulations. I still admire her for her passion for the planet :) we almost got into another heated argument but this time I remembered that I have a tie to buy :P So we took a quick pic and on with my quest I went :)

Jane was criticizing me at this point for wanting to go into Tarocash only because of the salesgirl....it was the typical guy thing to do and these days I have become just a typical guy, NO MORE MR.NICE GUY :P lol, I am still nice just not too nice, We finally found Tie Rack after walking through 2 traffic lights and many blondes, It was definitely a blonde day on Friday!

When we got to Tie Rack I was totally disappointed, not only were the ties dull and lifeless in color and design but they were double the price! I decided to head back to where the beautiful salesgirls was! Lesson Learned: Always go with the hottie! lol, I mean always look for a bargain.I went back complaining to Jane who thought the whole thing was funny...lol it was,all this, for a tie :P

We got to Tarocash, this time I took Jane in with me so salesgirl could eat her heart out :P We looked at the ties and Jane helped me pick out a tie...then salegirls offered to sell me a belt,so I asked her what they had, she showed me a few boring ones then I spyed with my little eye one with black on one side and white on the other.....but it cost $59.95 (just tell me its $60 already :P) then I started going on asking "so what makes this belt so expensive?" in other words why should I spend half a hundred bucks on something that holds my pants up? Apart from the very reason that it does keep my pants from falling down, she skillfully explained that it was made of genuine leather and that it had a reversible buckle that you can flip to wear as a black or white belt depending on the occassion and dress...hmm...impressive :) she could have had it SOLD that very moment but I'm a bit of a tuff guy when it comes to making purchases....so I say "yeah but 60 bucks, is a bit much for a belt..don't you think?" she totally caved!

So I walked out of tarocash with a $59.95 dollar belt for $20 and a tie for $19.95 ka ching! I've never felt so great just shopping! Is this how a woman feels after shopping?? Is this why women so love to shop?? TELL ME!! lol.....I enjoyed the challenge of finding a tie that binds :P

My spanish word for today was suggested by Ms.Anonymous ;) as the word for my last post is: cerveza ( es demasiado cercano peligrosamente a la palabra en inglés "cervix" )

I think she is doing a great job, keep it up girl! :) cut out the ugly guy next to you..lol

This place should be renamed,Tie Crap..haha coz they have really boring overpriced ties!

On top of Mount Eden, overlooking Auckland City....the view from up here was breathtaking! I just wished I had someone special to share it with :( boohoo :P

The pet shop next to my lodge has the cutest animals ever! I want to name this dog...hehe,isn't he a cutie? :)

"I don't bite I just lick hard"

I've had a pretty hectic week this week and I have to submit a testimonial for my school tomorrow. I've been babysitting since last week...its not the easiest thing in the world but it is rewarding and can be fun.I woke up one morning with a warm wet feeling on my chest..lol,it took me a while to realize that my nephew had peed all over me in my sleep...I had taught him how to say "bubblegum" this is a very handy word :) I'd say if not now than perhaps when he grows older....its his first 3 syllable word.

I plan to write so many things but I only end up writing about a third of what I think to write,I really am blending in over here, one of my friends that lives upstairs in my lodge asked me out to a drink last night...so I gladly accepted because she was buying :P yes, how very gentleman-like of me,hehe.....we went to the first bar and I didn't really like it coz it felt like I had just walked into an old TV show....they were hardly any Islanders there (somehow New Zealanders like to call themselves Islanders-and i guess, technically they are) not a Fijian to be sighted except for my friend and I of cos.....we stood out like raisins on a bun! We soon left after two drinks, she took me to another bar and there were 6 Fijians including the guy at the bar and the owner, who later said that I was free to try out if I was interested in working for her on Wednesday nights. She said I have the personality for it :P I don't think that being silly actually counts as personality...haha but I was confident and friendly. The bartender made small talk then I started to get interested in his job....the bar owner was so thrilled to have us there that she ordered a round on the house. I drank AMSTEL beer which is a dutch beer and was actually taken over by Heineken....interesting taste...but I still prefer Fiji Bitter.

So yeah,I worked hard changing stinky diapers then I found myself winding down with some dutch beer and really great company :) What a week! :)

I don't have a spanish word for today but if I did, it would be : Nada :P

Boobs on bikes

Yesterday I got stuck in traffic, there was lots of people crowding up Queens Street, so my friend and I decided to see what the big deal was about....upon taking a closer look, we discovered something really interesting :PYep yep, this parade was just the thing that held up traffic in the city center for more than an hour!

There was a lot of controversy surrounding this parade....I heard that they almost closed this "boobs on bikes" parade.....I think that pornography does not fuel sexual violence....people fuel sexual violence.....they highly exaggerated the effects of pornography but I did take the time to note their objections...but I was soon overwhelmed by large round breasts :P

I found the people's interest to be of more interest than some of the saggy boobs on show....there were guys on trees....

guys on phone booths......

and even guys with dogs....who just wanted to see some boobs! lol....aaahh the things guys do just to see boobs! :P

This was apparently a big promo for the erotica expo which is an annual gig.

Well, as for me.....I thought it was new and interesting...and I think that the girls were nice. Just one of the interesting things to see here in New Zealand :)

My Spanish word for today is : pecho

hehe...pecho grande..lol

"They told me I was gullible, and I believed them"

Its been a long day, I took my usual trip to South Auckland today and again it was soooo cold, raining cats and dogs, apples and pears.....and other furry and delicious things :)

I left my camera back there.....so I'm feeling so stupid. I need my camera for Wednesday. I completed my assignments and I am looking forward to my presentation on "troubleshooting a 3G wireless broadband system" I didn't meet any interesting people this weekend coz the rain had kept me all curled up and comfy in my bed. I watched TV, there is this really cool show I forget the name....its about a bunch of guys and a girl, and they have to try and get the girl...kinda like Joe Millionaire (yes that's how much television I HAVEN'T been watching!) but the twist here is the guys are gay and the girl doesn't know it..lol..that was fun to watch. Also caught Oceans 13 on Sky Box Office and watched a show about food and health....called uhm....whats in our food or something like that. Really cool NZ TV but not something I'd stay in for if there was sunshine outside. I got back to my room all lonely again, to find that my STL friend had sent me an email! She really is a thinker that one.....I can't believe I didn't meet her last time she was in Fiji...well, theres always next vacation! I'm enjoying the city life for now.....I'll have Wednesday off to plunder the riches of this enchanting city :)

I think I may as well put some old pics up.

The ones you didn't see :
I saw this cute little girl next to me in the car wash...she was so curious and kept staring...so I took a pic :) isn't she lovely? very photogenic..unlike.......unlike this dog here....he was also curious and couldn't stop staring..lol :P

My spanish word for today :) feliz!

"Early to bed, early to rise makes you healthy but socially dead!"

Late nights and early days have been my usual last week.I went out on a really cold wet Friday night. It was really cool ( not just literally) my friends and I hit this place called "D bar" in Auckland Central. I went out coz one of my friends came back from Fiji, we went out to welcome him back. He didn't look too excited to be back in New Zealand haha...I wouldn't be...the weather back home is so warm. What is cold there is not nearly as cold as here. I understand now what my friend Silvie always meant. She used to get excited when the temperature was just 19 or 20 degrees celsius...and I never really got how pleasantly warm that was until I experienced my first winter!

This is my first winter...yes my first,EVER! I've never experienced winter before, at least not the real seasonal stuff. I had so much fun...met so many people at the "D bar" and, I didn't get any phone numbers this time...but I met so many cool people :) I also me
t actual SPANISH people!! yay! This bar was supposedly for South Americans and other non-usual crowds. A fight broke out between the Samoan dudes when we got in but they got kicked out and things were really cool from then on. The DJ was awesome!! I also met the bar owner, bought him a drink and got to talk to this hot bar tender "R" I got her name...she was adorable!

Oh yeah and whatever happened to my date?? It was canceled, too bad, I was really looking forward to it. I don't really mind, there are so many girls out there! Especially in STL ;) I of cos told her that I went out, and she just said, she was glad I had fun. I did,it was also my first night out with my friends from my Institute. I really loved the people in this club! I had a chance to use my spanish...I'm gonna lay low this weekend, spend some time with my sister, take a load off.

I've also been spending alot of time online learning American ;) thanks to fashiongirl* username changed.

I spend too many nights awake and waay too many mornings sleeping! But...It may not be healthy but...it keeps me alive socially. I haven't had much time to think about my assignments but I finished all my programs today and submitted ahead of the deadline which is tomorrow. BIG RELIEF! :)

I'm "cool" as!

My spanish word for today: fresca :)

The sky tower at night.....darn thing wouldn't keep still! :P
MEXICAANS :P lol...the guy on the left everyone keeps calling JT, he does look like Justin :PMy friends and I when things were picking up :) I never realized I was so tall.....

Thats all for now..adios!

"I'm down with the sickness but I'm not disturbed"

I got really sick all of a sudden, must have been due to the intensive make out session last Friday! lol...if only I believed in passing germs that way. Did you know that you actually spread more germs shaking someones hand, rather than kissing them? yep, thats one interesting fact.Interesting but useless! People will do what they normally do, and if you normally greet your friends by kissing them...by all means...spread less germs!

Okay enough about useless things. I am still sick and I have an assignment due tomorrow. I have applied for an extension and it has been approved so I am planning to sleep the whole day, wake up...write about my dreams and then sleep again in the evening....it will be so much fun if I somehow am able to remember it :P

I went to see a doctor today and he said that it was probably because I skipped an injection 2 weeks ago. I didn't get my regular injections...I missed one injection and now I'm coughing my lungs out!

I feel yucky, and it is such a bad time to be sick right now since I've been asked out on a second date. I hate to disappoint ;) Oh yeah and Allen is right...I did feel like I was in a typical Hollywood scene, except for playing "the stereotypical female type on a first date" I am now looking forward to a totally smashing second date. And this time I will try to make up for my lack of intensity last week.

We'll be watching the new Batman : Dark Knight which stars the late Heath Ledger. It should be fun! The date, and if that's not fun then I'm sure the movie will be a killer! :)

My sister took me to this Chinese restaurant to get the best soup in Auckland South. When we got there I noticed some amazing work...some really cool graffiti, this wall had style and a bit of class. I really liked it.

It was different from the typical tagging that goes on in the South. It costs the Auckland City Council some NZD$1.85 million on the eradication of graffiti vandalism through its Zero Tolerance to Graffiti vandalism programme. This is a serious problem. I've seen walls and walls of turf sigs and gang signs and what not! There was a law passed here to ban the sale of spray cans to minors under the age of 18. It is something that has a big following, with hundreds of underground networks doing coordinated hits on spaces that seemingly need decoration, however, these tags were different. They were actually eyecatching for me, but were they legal? I don't know....enjoy :)

looks very interesting...if only I could read it :P

"I don't know,what do you wanna do?, I don't know,whatever you wanna do?,I don't know...."

Despite the "I don't know, what do you wanna do?, I don't know, whatever you wanna do?,I don't know....", part my date went really well :) my sis offered to drop me off and stake her out :P but that all went to the crapper when I met her...I was so intensely blown away by her...she was dressed up really "lightly" that night...I found that ironic because she asked me to wear something warm...coz the weather in the South is cold..hehe, she looked great and I just stood there like an idiot.lol. All I could say was...uhm...meet my sister and I pointed to them hiding out in the car to see what she looked like...oh yeah and my sister later told me "I like this one,she isn't like one of those other tramps" :O I was a little shocked, but fair enough,I know she doesn't like my other friends, and she doesn't have to :P

...well, we went to watch "Get Smart" :) - this was my choice,I think? she kept asking me..so what do you wanna watch?? then I say, oh I don't know what do you wanna watch?? (only fair coz she was paying for the whole thing!) aaaah you can't have a first date without being undecided! :P anyway it was an awesome movie...with classic lines from the show! I really had a good laugh...but I made one teeny weeny mistake, I didn't get the hint when it was dropped (or so she thought I didn't :P) When we got back to the car she said she wanted to hold my hand...and perhaps she was a little disappointed that I didn't but I wanted to hold her hand too but....I didn't want to do anything that would make her feel uncomfortable....we almost argued about the whole thing and in the end we did hold hands....in her car....after the movie! :P what a strange date! hehehe....anyway,I knew she was dropping the hint but I didn't do it and that kinda sucked,I just didn't feel like it :( ...my sister wanted me to have fun and so did all my friends, and I just acted like a stone wall, I'm not surprised if she doesn't want to ever see me anymore :P

So after that,I decided to turn things around by being all into it....so we went for "Wendy's" and she paid for everything,I did protest to her generosity but to no avail...I like her independence, it is truly something I want in a woman, she put on some music to get us in the mood and then....we kept talking about kissing until we eventually did kiss :P I was so nervous,we then talked some more about our little age difference..she is 26 going on 27...and I'm 24 but I didn't care, I liked her and we did have great conversation and she was funny and I was funnier :P After talking so much, she was tired or so I thought....she takes me home (yes she drives me...there is something so wrong with this picture :P) Its pouring, coz there has been a storm passing through and so I stay in the car and we start talking again....then I kiss her goodbye, and then, I kiss her goodbye again...then it was totally crazy! BUT yes, BUT, it stopped there coz....she said she wouldn't go any further! which was of cos...great news for me...but I wanted to test her ;) hehehee.....and I can say she passed my test :) She left and I went to my room and just lay there thinking about everything...it all felt like a dream! It was nice...so yep,it was cool.

so that was it...end of date:) If I had to rate it using 5 stars....I'd give it 4 and a half stars :)...and I can honestly say its THE BEST DATE EVER! since it was my only date :P ...now I'm back here in my room in da city....just typing out my blog...but it was so lifeless back at my sisters place....with something that my South African friend likes to call "internetlessness" WoW! I hope thats an actual word :P I went all low tech using my Nokia 3220 to post a comment on my friends blog ...nice :)

back to class tomorrow! yuck :(

Friday 1 August 2008

"The deal goes down"

Today, I'll get to meet the lovely lady that gave me her number...yay!She has been calling me...getting me all excited about the meet up.LOL@ Wilson...haha...I'm not a kalavo (that is a Fijian word meaning-literally,"rat" but carries a double meaning as a street rat, or a "player" -definitely NOT me! :P) She had been getting me all excited, called me last night to discuss the details, we planned it right down to what we were gonna wear, yeah, we're control freaks :P lol. She is so funny! I finally don't feel so homesick, but probably a little lovesick, the more we talk about it, the more we want to see each other..it's crazy and I think I'm taking this a bit too fast...I can already feel how hard I'll hit the ground, crash and burn,if this all goes horribly wrong and I'm still "going for it" vinaka Wilisoni! :P

well, I have nothing to hide (unlike some people I know..hehe) I'm also thinking of sabotaging my date if I can sense any hint of it going to the shitzel! My plan was to act like a jerk, try to jump to second base immediately, my plan is evil! hehehe...but my chat buddy wrote what if it backfires? lol,I never thought of that....I think I'll just take the most classic advice ever! "Just be yourself" :)

Well, the anticipation has been too much for me......so I'm gonna go take a shower. I'll update my single status if I need to, until then, cherios! (eat them..they're yummy!)

my spanish word for today "el rata" :P
