"gold at the rainbow's end"

I went to Rainbows End yesterday....it is a funpark not far from where I'm staying. My sister offered to take me there last week but I thought it was for kids so I passed. This week I was bored coz it was ANZAC day, a public holiday over here so I figured...why not?? I went down there and got a pass. Cool thing is you can take any of the rides for the whole day :) Man....did I feel like a kidd :P

Awesome rides and i got to drive a go-kart for the first time...hehehehe! vrrrrrrrm vrrrrrm! :D

I also met a German exchange student named Ineke (which is actually pronounced "Ineka" or "
in a car" :P well,at least thats how I heard it...LOL! I took my sisters boyfriend's two brothers. I was more of a kid than they were..lol! Again with the beautiful ladies....I was just so amazed...walking around admiring such beauty is actually very tiring! and I'm not just talking about the people...the trees and parkland is amazing too!:) I went on the bumper cars and the "The Fear Fall" which wasn't very scary so...maybe the should have called it "the FALL" You get to see the nearby towns up there! I met a guy from West Virginia and a guy from Lautoka in Fiji..small world!

"All in good time"

I'm learning so much in school and also about this beautiful country :) I met two really lovely ladies that run a hostel closer to my school and I'm hoping to move there next month. Although some well meaning friends have advised me against moving because of the "party nature" and openness of the kiwis :P I was afraid of that! but I have more pressing reasons to move there. I will get access to the internet and also more privacy since I will be living alone, but I will have to be more responsible and will have to put my managment skills to good use! I will also save approximately 1hour and 15 minutes of travel time also expenses will be much less but I guess it will be evened out by the cost of food here, which is more expensive because it is closer to the city centre. I will also miss "train girl" :(

I have thought about this and I will decide next month when I am in a better financial position to make such a decision :P

I got an email from http://www.verveearth.com/ and apparently my blog has made some noise with the people at verveearth :) "We are searching the internet for the world's best blogs by geography, and we found yours for Fiji" Yipeee :) thanks Clayton and I am only too happy to be a beta user!

Anyway here are my photographic updates :P

A beautiful New Zealand morning.....for me at least :P

Something warm to start your day with :P my sis has been very liberal with my Midori...grrrr!

See what I mean about the cars???
I am enjoying my time and I won't let missing home stop me from experiencing New Zealand at its best! :)

"I take it back"

I would like to eat my words....today just walking through Auckland City centre.....I had never seen such beautiful people :) It is amazing, how multi-ethnicity brings about the most unique and intriguing mixture of looks that make the women and of cos the men-does this make me gay??..don't answer that:P

I believe that I only said that the cars were more beautiful coz....I never really noticed the women...I didn't really want to anyway, after all the problems that I have come to associate with relationships, still fresh in my mind :P

I love this place...I got to hear very different accents and I met this really nice girl on the train...I shall call her "train girl" :P She isn't much of a talker but...hey shes company! :) sure beats the hell out of sitting aimlessly in a train for 1:15 mins! :O

"Back in Fiji!"

I'm here in the beautiful land of the long white clouds.....everything is so cool here :) I love the environment.....the people are hot ;) an intriguing mix of cultures....making all of them VERY interesting to look at...I have honestly become a stare bear here :P
I flew in on Sunday and Monday was my first day in class.I adapted so well that it freaked my sister out :) It's like I'm thriving and learning so well in my new environment :) I miss home though....but I have so many interesting things here that keeps me from being in such a sad and lowly state.I also saw my sister for the first time in more than 2 years. She is so happy to have close family here and I'm living with her. She has really changed and she seems to have settled in well :)
I haven't told many of my friends that I was leaving so I got a lot of reactions like "damnit...who's going to fix my pc now? :(" "never even had a farewell dinner for you you bastard you" "i'll hold that against you you know!" well, okay thats just one guy...but everyone was really surprised that I left :P SORRRY people....and my customers...awww man! I do miss my business coz over here....I am without any income...I only have what little money I've kept but it is going down quickly so after I finish from here I'll ask this people here if I can fix all their computers in this internet place. WELL...back in Fiji :P I'd get customers easy! but yeah...thats back in Fiji...I'm in New Zealand now......To all my friends....I will visit! Take care!
I had such a great time with my friends before I left.....here are a few pics :)

flying away

I got my visa so I'm leaving my sweet home in Fiji to Aotearoa.I had been waiting on my visa for so long but now all that waiting is over and I'm set to fly away from home on Sunday.I am not quite ready to leave my friends and my family behind...they mean so much to me. I was with my cuz last night...we slept together just TALKING....she had so much to say...so many questions, unanswered.I leave behind my friends and my family, also my business. I did not have enough time to scramble together a team to look after my customers :( I leave them in a state...I'd say I leave them "hanging" I do apologize for the suddenness.I will miss all the people that have made my life interesting and fulfilling :) Some more than others :P K said that she is happy for me and she is so proud of me.I will miss her a lot too :( I held back a few things that "could have been" just because I knew I would leave. I kept to myself like a nomad of some sort....coz I didn't want anyone to be affected by my absence. I can say that it doesn't work.I am being taken out tonight by my cuz and the wonderful ladies from work want to take me out for a little Karaoke :P I remember the last time I went for Karaoke! :P Well, To all my friends in Fiji....I will miss you all and I promise I'll be back. I won't overstay :P unless I find myself a good reason to;)
I'll drink to that :P I got a bottle of raspberry flavored triple distilled vodka to share with my cuz and her friends :) ...this one shouldn't be tasteless :P

Cheers Fiji....my next post will be in NZ.
To my dear friends: I'll sms you all my new number. Keep in touch! :)

"The trick to flying: missing the ground!"

I'm back at home today, thinking about all the wonderful places I've seen and the people I've met...they remain only as a memory in my head. I had such a great time being in a different environment...it was therapeutic and relaxing. I want to live in Nadi, it is just a vibrant town and it has so many great places to see. Traveling up and down the Coral Coast just made me feel like a tourist in my own country! There's so much to explore....so little time :) I made the most of my holiday...as usual. Now, it's back to business and back to my usual. I have work in a few hours..work that is not as much fun :P I'm grateful to my customers who paid for my whole trip up there :) Thanks Kate, you're the best!

Anyway,I'm back in Suva City...my home....back to my high speed internet, the place where I can buy almost any computing device I need :P Suva City,Suva City throw it up in the sky!

K is in this vid coz her brother is the one and only Sammy G....I went to school with Mr. Grinn...these guys have really worked hard to make this video....I really enjoyed watching it:) Known as BSQ these guys are one of the first rap groups to come out of Fiji..

work doesn't suck that much now :P

I'm in the western side of Fiji and even though I'm working here...I am really enjoying the scenery, the people and the weather.....hot hot hot! :)
Today is supposed to be my last day and I'm writing this entry from work...I'm almost done :( so I have to go back home....I've had all my expenses paid and I got to stay in a hotel...which was cool but also the nights are pretty lonely....but I think it is good to have some time to yourself once in a while.I had a double bed and a single bed to myself....too bad I don't have kids...they'd have fun here... Anyway I don't have much time...I have to go shopping after this..hehe..see what gadgets I can get from here..if any. I had so much trouble finding a wireless router or even a plain switch. I had to travel to Nadi, some 20 km away just to get the stuff I need. So here are some pics from my trip on the bus...beautiful sunset!!
I'm a sucker for sunsets :P
I slept alone for two lonely nights :(
